The past over 40 years of Kyungdong Co., Ltd. have been the times with
the public and communities like the management philosophy so-called
“Volunteer Service to Society through the Company”.
The founder of Kyungdong Co., Ltd., the honorary president Dongam SON Do-ik established Wangpyo Co., Ltd. in November 1967 after going through Choryang Company which was a manufacturer of coal briquette in September 1957 and then when domestic energy conditions were so bad due to the first oil shock, he took over Heungguk Mine with a policy that a company producing coal will be taken over for stable supply of coal briquette that is fuel for ordinary people and established Kyungdong Mine Co., Ltd. in February 1974.
Starting the energy business which becomes a foundation stone for national development, it is focusing on exploring a new driving force for growth by concentrating on diversification of business such as overseas resources development, engineering business etc.
